The Institute of Agricultural and Forestry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IŚRiL PAN) met with the Demeter-Poland Foundation to organize a conference on floral passports. The partners were: The patronage of the conference was surrounded by the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship Marek Woźniak, and the media patrons were: the portal “Without Plow” and the monthly “Pszczelarstwo”.
On behalf of IŚRiL PAN, the organizer was, and from the Demeter-Poland Foundation – its President. The introduction of floral passports, as recognized in many European countries, will undermine the diversity of biological agrocenosis and, in the same way, the development of biological damage control mechanisms.
The whole conference, as in the last year, organized, was followed by a presentation on the application of flower belts in Europe and the presentation of research results carried out by our institute. and the biodynamic farm, at of the Institute of Plant Protection of the State Research Institute.
The conference was attended by 53 people, including educators, councilors, farmers and representatives of the Wielkopolska National Park and the Park of Landscape Parks of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship, as well as other institutions and employees. The students represented the apprenticeship (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan University of Natural Sciences, Warmińsko-Mazurski University), the Polish Academy of Sciences (IŚRL PAN and the Institute for the Protection of Nature PAN) and the State Institute of Civil Engineering, Institute of Civil Engineering and the Institute of Education, Science and Science (PIB, and the Institute of Gardening – PIB).
The conference program consisted of a presentation of papers, including a special guest explanation – of the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands, in which large passports have been used since many years. The conference showed that a strong interest in the issues of floral passages is widely possible in various circles (including counselors, farmers, educators, employees, community associations, representatives of the current community).
